Paul sees that his family has become more independent and that they don't have time to eat meals together. However, his mom still protects him and worries about him. Paul jokes around and acts sarcastic with his mom. He thinks that he is to grown up and that his mom shoudn't worry so much.

What Mrs. Fisher sees is that, Paul has a problem with his eyesight. She worries that if Paul plays soccer he would get hurt, just like any other parent with a child who has a problem. So she signs out a form saying that Paul has a problem with his eyesight causing him to lose the chance of becoming a goalie at the Lake Windsor Downs Middle soccer team. What she doesn't see is that, Paul is an outrageous goalie as well as a superb soccer player!
